Other events have been planned by other people. We apologize if there has been any confusion. I also apologize if anyone mistook me as having any authority in this. I am not a Sun Dancer and am simply trying to act as a good granddaughter to my grandfather and act in the capacity of a secretary for him. He is seventy-seven years old, and I try to show him all the respect all of our elders deserve. I apologize if anyone misunderstood this and hope they will overlook this confusion as I try to take good care of him. He is an Arrow Priest, a Sun Dance Priest, a Fasting Priest for our Holy Mountain, Bear Butte, a Sweat Lodge Priest, and a Native American Church Roadman. First, he wants to commend all of you on your efforts to organize and improve conditions for all Indigenous people. He is sorry that he will not be able to be with you at this first meeting, but hopes that somewhere down the Road of Life, your paths will cross with his. He also wants to announce to all of you that a intertribal Sun Dance is planned for Bear Butte in July 2008, which we are calling The Circle of Love. As our prophet, Sweet Medicine, learned from spirits from all of the tribes when he was in the mountain for four years, Grandpa would like to see as many tribes represented in this Sun Dance as possible. Qualified Sun Dance instructors (those who have completed four years or more in their own tribe's Sun Dance) are needed to meet sometime around January 2008 to discuss the details and organize the ceremony.
